Sally forth to retake the valley fort
Parry swords of nightmares in varied forms
Casting scorn upon the sacrilegious
Cracking ribs with axes dispatching minions

Under siege, skeletons come for me
Demon of the night, I bite my thumb at thee
Bloody scenes of creatures rending flesh
From the trees the reapers sending death

Prepared to meet a righteous end
Time and time again fighting death alongside my men,
Trust my life to them, Whilst holding a blade,
boldly proclaim “The dead can die again”

Fiend! bash your teeth if you lash at me
I’m a master paladin not a parish priest
Defeat the beasts beat them through drastic means
Casting beams the goddess granted me

And withs that show of zealotry the men roared
Cast aside the bent sword like a spent torch
Unfazed, my squire has ten more
He hands me another as I mount my red horse

I see shiny riders clad in white advancing here
Mine eyes pierced as if by a fearsome dancing spear

Where souls of cowards languish for a thousand anguished years O cavaliers

I flay the flesh and lay to rest your vanquished peers

I’m the black knight of Malachite, I guard the gate
The commander of the men in alabaster arms
Hails me and unsheathes his blade as if bravely

Unimpressed, I swing my mace down, crush his head
A paladin behind him cries from seeing his gushing flesh
And their easily defeated leader’s sudden death
A dozen fled while the rest would rest in onyx beds

A lancer thrusts but I parry with my bastard sword
Buried steel into his knee, he screamed his ass off “lord”
But the lord wasn’t there in that opening
His horse had abandoned him and only death spoke to him

Wielding a mace in one hand and a blade in the other
I advance on the last of the them while making them shudder
As I thought, what transpired on this bloody day
Formed into more rumours since a few of them had got away
